Rapid Diagnostic — 5 business days

Crimson conducts a structured diagnostic across the relevant practice area. Finance: we look at your models, your reporting, and your cash position. HR: we review your org structure, comp philosophy, and compliance exposure. Marketing: we audit your positioning, your pipeline, and your channel strategy.

What you'll get: a clear point of view on your biggest leverage points — in plain language, with a priority order.

Engagement Design — 48 hours

Based on the diagnostic, Crimson designs an engagement that fits what you actually need: a retainer for ongoing advisory, or a scoped project for a defined deliverable. Pricing is transparent. Scope is specific. No ambiguity about what you're getting.

What you'll get: a one-page engagement proposal with scope, timeline, deliverables, and pricing. No 40-page decks.

Kickoff & Execution

Crimson starts within a week of signing. You work directly with a senior principal — not a project manager coordinating a junior team. We embed in your workflow, attend the meetings that matter, and produce work that's actually usable.

Accountability & Measurement

Every Crimson engagement is outcome-oriented. We set measurable targets at the start — and we track them. Monthly reviews assess progress against what we said we'd accomplish, not just activity logs. If something isn't working, we adjust.

Common questions.

Retainer engagements typically run 3–6 months, with a 30-day exit clause after the first 60 days. Project engagements range from 3 weeks to 3 months depending on scope. Crimson works with a select number of clients at a time — so we're not stretching engagements artificially.
A senior Crimson principal. We do not staff engagements with junior team members supervised by someone who shows up for the kickoff and the close. The person you meet in the discovery call is the person who does the work.
Yes — and this is often where Crimson creates the most value. Finance, HR, and marketing are deeply interconnected. A compensation redesign has budget implications. A repositioning sprint affects hiring. Clients who engage Crimson across multiple practices benefit from integrated thinking, not siloed advice.
All Crimson engagements are covered by a mutual NDA from day one. We treat everything we see in an engagement as confidential — including the fact of the engagement itself, if the client prefers. Crimson does not use client information to inform work with other clients.
Retainer pricing is monthly and set at the start of the engagement. Project pricing is fixed at the scope agreement. Crimson does not bill by the hour — because hourly billing creates the wrong incentives. You always know what you're spending before you start.
Crimson works best with companies between 20 and 200 employees — large enough to have real organizational complexity, small enough that senior advisory actually moves the needle. We've worked with earlier-stage companies for specific projects (fundraise prep, founding comp design) and larger organizations for defined workstreams. If you're outside that range, we'll tell you honestly whether we're a fit.
